Brief Bio
My name is Ruth Wallace, and I am a practicing Reflexologist and Massage Therapist since 2001. My rooms are in Dublin 6W and Kinsale region of Cork.
My journey of working in complementary healing began after receiving a gift of 3 reflexology sessions from my employer back in 1992. It was during the first trimester of pregnancy and for the first time in my life I had severe sinus problems which were affecting my ability to focus due to pretty much constant pain. The relief I felt from this problem after receiving reflexology was fantastic, sinus pain alleviated, head felt clearer, energy lifted, sleep improved even though I hadn’t been aware of any problems in that area at the time, and I was much more relaxed yet more productive in my work.
I went forward to complete a 3 year diploma course in psychotherapy and counselling in 1999 amazed by the affect that both internal and external impacts can have on our mental health and wellbeing. At this stage of both my own study and growth I continued to work in the area of psychotherapy and counselling while continuing my professional development in the following areas Anatomy Physiology, Reflexology, Holistic massage, Diet & Nutrition, Stress Management, Hot Stone Massage, and Pregnancy Post Partum and baby massage, Natural Lift Facial Massage/Facial Rejuvenation. It never ceases to amaze me how we are physically, emotionally and spiritually connected; how the stress we may feel from time pressures or decision making etc can effect how our bodies actually feel and function. Sometimes we can become consumed with what has to be done and miss where we are, or what is going on around us at that moment.
The hands on therapies, Reflexology and Massage, offer such a gentle approach for healing to take place on all levels.
My experience includes working on an individual basis with clients in each of the above areas since 2001. I have given talks within corporate settings regarding stress management and dietary requirements to maintain optimum health, increase motivation, reduce stress, and improve focus. Within the corporate setting I have also worked for more than 7 years giving mini treatments to staff members with very positive response from both the staff themselves, and HR within the companies.
Within smaller groups of parenting circles I have given presentations about the importance of self care to ensure that we can offer the best we have to offer to our children. I have also given information evenings on alternative foods for those with food intolerances or allergies and the importance of the acceptance of these changes, and the preparation of food alternatives.
